Astronomers Are Attempting to Capture the First-Ever Photograph of a Black Hole

“A system of radio telescopes around the world is peering at the gigantic black hole at the center of the Milky Way, a behemoth called Sagittarius A*.”

Gravitational Waves vs. Gravity Waves: Know the Difference!

“Though you’ll likely see many news headlines heralding the wonders of ‘gravity wave science’, do not fall into the trap! While both have gravity in common, gravity waves and gravitational waves are two very different beasts. Read on to find out why and then show off your gravitational smarts to your friends the next time you’re down the pub.”

Black hole mergers and the QCD axion at Advanced LIGO

“In the next few years, Advanced LIGO (aLIGO) may see gravitational waves (GWs) from thousands of black hole (BH) mergers. This marks the beginning of a new precision tool for physics. Here we show how to search for new physics beyond the standard model using this tool.”

  1. I’m confused, how can particles be “multiplied” not that matter cannot be created? I know they’re just particles but according to the host they have mass. Someone enlighten me please

  2. Anyone else thinks that the background music sounds a hell of a lot like that GTA V version of scientology theme music?

  3. Sometimes the youtube comment section is a black hole ….. destroying anything that comes by it….

  4. Will we change name of Dark Matter once we find it? If so, what will it be called? ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

  5. If we wanna find something as complex as the idea of dark matter and energy, then we should first figure out how to do the divide by zero error in my opinion.

  6. Maybe dark matter is gravity from the future and/or past? I mean if the universe loops like some propose, and if the 4th dimension interacts with all other dimensions as almost everyone proposes, and if black holes are a symbol of how fragile space is. Then why can’t we assume that time is fragile, but only a bit fragile that gravity can disturb it, I mean gravity has an infinite effect area in a possibly finite looping universe. Not to mention that gravity almost definitely travels at the speed of light, then gravity is timeless considering that things at the speed of light experience the pinnacle of time dilation.

  7. these video’s offer so much information on cosmology, they are great. It’s like having a textbook with, constant updated information. You guys sure do a great job createing these video’s, keep up the great work.

  8. According to the wave equation, since gravitational waves are traveling at the speed of light, are gravitational waves some sort of electromagnetic waves?

  9. If things are not yet confirmed one should not talk about it because they cause people to get mad
    No offense seeker

  10. We ready did find dark matter u could look it up in black ops 3 is all ready their trust me๐Ÿ˜

  11. My questionz are; if gravatons are found then what? If gravatons can be produced or harnessed what can they be used for?

  12. This is not science, just science-fiction or more correctly science-fantasy. A theory based on a hypothetical particle based on a theory which also was based on a theory which on itself again was based on another hypothetical particle. That’s like my father knew a guy who had a friend that told him that his uncle’s boss had an acquaintance who without a doubt knew that flying saucers exist. Not because she saw one, she had a very good theory about it. So let’s make up some stuff to proof that theory.
